Abstract:
AddressLocator is an Esri composite geocoding web service based on the Montana Structures/Addresses Framework, the Montana Transportation Framework, Esri Streets and Addresses data, points representing cities/towns, and points representing ZIP Codes. An address entering the geocoder is first sent to the Structures Framework addresses locator. If a match is not found to an address point, the address is sent to the Transportation Framework address locator to match to a road centerline address range. If a match still is not found, the address is sent to the Esri data, followed by the city/town points, and finally the ZIP Code points.
The geocoding service can be used in ArcGIS or via the REST endpoint.
